Subtle Glittery Nails

I'm better at doing other peoples nails than I am at my own, mine are quite short because I tend to snap them or catch them on something when they get to a certain length and that's WITH a strengthening coat.

Anyway, whilst I was messing about with makeup earlier I decided to do my nails as well because I don't get much of a chance to do them any other day. I had a chance to mess about with some of my newer additions to my makeup bag, I'd love to hear some feedback and get tips if anyone has time:

Back to my tutorial!

So for my base coat I just used the one from my Active Cosmetics Nail Bar Set, I'm glad I remembered to because last time I did my nails I stained them red.

I left that to dry and then painted two coats of Sally Hansens Complete Salon Manicure nail varnish in 822 Take The Leap. It looks like a purple sort of shade when it's in the bottle but once it's painted on and dried it's more like a slightly opaque shimmery pink.

As pictured, I applied a coat of the Rimmel London Glitter Bomb nail varnish and decided to leave it like that because I didn't think it needed an extra coat for the subtle look I was going for. Once that dried I used the same clear coat that I used a base for the top coat.

Thanks for reading, has anyone else discovered any good subtle nail looks? I'm always on the hunt for more so I can wear them at work or whatever.
