I spent my bank holiday weekend as I've spent many others; in a caravan park. Though, I'd never been to Southerness on the Scottish boarders before so it was nice to see yet another part of the UK. To be perfectly honest, there's not much to report about my weekend away, it was pretty chilled and I got the chance to spend time with my family before my month away. The weekend was filled with Costa coffee, fish and chips, car boot sales and lots of walking. It was a pretty standard Barton family weekend break.
We did venture out into Dumfries which was about twelve miles away from the caravan park but the tiny village that was a few minutes walk away from the park was cute and picturesque. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of any of it because I was trying to give my phone a break over the bank holiday weekend.
I did get the chance to watch The Covenant though because it was on one of the movie channels in the caravan, I've been meaning to watch it for a while because Sebastian Stan was sort of a bad guy in it. Movie review in one sentence; bad film, Stan makes a good villain though. I used villain as a loose term, I feel like villain is more of a superhero movie term than anything else.
As for the update, I'm days away from my month in Hong Kong and I'm still not packed. I also haven't had the chance to buy some decent trainers to take away with me yet. My packing day tomorrow is going to fly by in a flurry of panicking and frustration. I am, however, still really looking forward to experiencing eastern culture as I've never been that far afield before.
Anyway, thanks for reading! I'll be post something over the weekend to blog about my first ever long haul flight, where I'm staying (my grans house-boat-thing) and how I'm dealing with the imminent jet lag.
Look like you had a great day! I am so jealous that you get to spend a month in Hong Kong- what an amazing experience. I can't wait to read all about it!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jessy! I'm so anxious about being away from home for a full month, I'm sure the pros will outweigh the cons though! Xx
DeleteGood luck with the packing, Hong Kong will be absolutely amazing! It's nice you got to have a weekend away with your family before you go!
