The Latest Addition To My Vinyl Collection

Excuse the awful flat hair in the picture to the left, I just wanted to do a quick blog about my latest vinyl purchase. Gerard Way's album, Hesitant Alien, has been out for around a year now and I've wanted it for just as long. It's been difficult to get my hands on it as every time I've tried to order it it's been out of stock, I didn't realise it was so popular!

The album itself is very Bowie, then again, one of Gerard's main influences is David Bowie and Iggy Pop so that's not entirely surprising. Hesitant Alien has a very 70's vibe and it reminds me of a smoky, grungy and possibly underground bar. It sounds fantastic as a vinyl, it just sounds so much more raw and authentic. I know some people don't like vinyls or find them too dated but I like the slightly less than HD sound.

Tracklist:
  • Bureau
  • Action Cat
  • No Shows
  • Brother
  • Millions
  • Zero Zero
  • Juarez
  • Drugstore Perfume
  • Get The Gang Together
  • How's It Going To Be
  • Maya The Psychic
They're all pretty shady and eclectic song names but they kinda work, Gerard Way is a strange guy, seriously, check out his Twitter! Back to the music, my personal favourite song from this album is No Shows but Action Cat, Millions and Brother are quite high up in my rankings too. I really do recommend this album, though, I know one friend of mine who really doesn't like Gerard Way or My Chem so it just depends on taste, I guess, not everyone is going to have the same opinions.

Well, thanks for reading my impromptu vinyl post... It's been a great one for me to write because no outside knowledge was needed, it was all opinion and things I already knew. Any others that sound great on vinyl? I'd love to hear about them in the comments.
