A Pamper Night In Ft. Zoella Beauty Products

Hi again! Two posts in two days, I know, it's a little strange coming from me since it's not Blogmas but I have time to write so I'm going to use it productively. I hope you guys enjoy this one because it's going to be a recount of my evening and a mini review of the products I've used.

So last night I decided it was time that I should have a little pamper session so I gathered some products and sort of created a home spa. I chose one of the Red Wine face masks that I brought back from Hong Kong, some Soap and Glory lotions and the Zoella products that were sent to me by Amy Farquar when I won her Twitter competition.

These are the products that were sent to me by Amy, they're cute in their packaging and smell clean and sweet whilst being used. The bath fizzer is sort of like a chocolate bare, you have to break it off in blocks as you use it because it can be used more than once.

The cleansing shower gel leaves skin clean and soft in that way that revitalises skin and doesn't leave skin feeling dry. The Scrubbing Me Softly body scrub, however, isn't quite strong enough for me but it was lovely anyway. I typically go for more intense scrubs so I feel like it's done what it was supposed to do.

After leaving the bath I put my hair out of the way and used one of the Red Wine masks, it leaves skin a tad bit shiny but it actually really works as is an antioxidant mask and it intentionally leaves skin feeling soft and new.

This was all, of course, in aid of the super early mornings that I've had recently. The picture to the left is a picture of my route to work on a morning. I've struggled quite a bit which is why I used the Etre Belle roll on eye gel, it made me look healthier and more awake and it was quick to sink into my skin.

Well, I guess this is it. After the pamper session I had an early night, even if the sleep I had was a bit broken. I woke up at 11pm thinking it was time to go to work and then got super happy because I realised that I had quite a few hours left of sleep to do. So yeah, have a nice day! :)

March Favourites (Spring Has Sprung!)

Hello everyone! It's been a while since I've done one of these posts but since it's been a while... I actually have some new items and experiences to share with you.

I've been such a lazy blogger as I've had time off to deal with early mornings and illness but I'm back now and I'm building up an unposted archive of content just awaiting pictures. I'm mentioning this because I've recently discovered that both my brother AND my sister have YouTube accounts. It was something that I said I would do but I haven't had the balls to do yet but hey... I've been quite happily watching theirs. (SamGT and Jessica Barton)

Moving swiftly onwards... As I mentioned a few posts ago, I went to see Deadpool in cinemas this month and it's fairly safe to say that it's going to be a favourite of mine. Though, Captain America: Civil War will take over it when that comes out in... May? My favourite Marvel films are Captain America and its sequel Captain America: Civil War.

Sticking to audio and visual for my favourites, I want to talk about music next. In May I'm going to see Busted because I've always loved the band. I've been to see McBusted twice and now I'm getting the opportunity to see the full original line up of Busted. The Vamps will be the next concert I go to see, before Busted even. What can I say? Boybands are my guilty pleasure and as far as they go, The Vamps are a cool one. Live music is pretty much my favourite thing to listen to anyway whether it's actually at the venue or in grainy YouTube videos, it's just a much more raw and honest way of hearing the tracks.

The most listened to album on my phone right now is the Labyrinth Movie Soundtrack, Bowie may be gone but his music will stand the test of time. Dance Magic Dance!

I'm currently obsessed with bright colours and experimenting with makeup. I suppose I take inspiration from music videos, Pinterest and Tumblr. I used to practice blending and colour variations with neutral pinkish tones or bronze shades but it's much more fun to surprise myself with the combination and take it as it comes.

The next one I do will be on a more orange base as the past two I've put up on here have been in cool blues and greens. It's a good thing that my natural lashes are fairly long because I didn't feel like using false ones for the experimentation.

You may recognise this photo from my Breville blender review, I adore their Blend Active as it's quiet, small and it doesn't take much to clean up after. This month I've been loving berry based smoothies and shakes but I've also experimented with chocolate protein recipes too.

I'm going to especially love this blender when I go on a slight diet to counteract all of the fast food I've had recently. Exercise isn't the problem at all, it's nutrition and aftercare. I'm so lethargic at the moment it's unreal!

Well, I guess that sums up this month in favourites. I haven't really changed foundation or style so there isn't anything to share on that front. Watch out for next weeks posts for my adventures in London and Newcastle, hopefully I'll have time to post by then!

Back To The Blue Hue: I'm Fixated On Brights

I'll be the first one to admit that my style can be a little on the boring side, plain fashion and makeup is easier to put together as a look. Simple as that. Truth be told, I love bright colours and I doubly love bizarre statement fashion but it's just too much effort.

Recently I've really been into blues and greens, today's post was nearly about glitter tears but instead I decided to mess around with some of my brighter shades. I think I've gravitated towards a mermaid theme once again but I'm not incredibly upset about that. When I get around to it I'll be doing a fresh face Spring makeup look but that will be in a a few weeks time because I'm not going to have enough time for that sort of post.

To create this funky look I went for a purple lower line to go with The Little Mermaid vibe I was feeling. Under the sea, baby! I think it sort of made the look more unusual so I ended up rolling with the idea.

I did the funky purple lower line first and then used a green as the base. The flick was created with a sky blue shade and an angled brush but I blended the colours together at the crease. I guess the statement for this look was 'Go Big Or Go Home' because I rarely experiment with makeup like this. I extended the flick to give it a more stage like quality, I'm not great with flicks or eyeliner so it was good practice.

The finished and blended look had a shimmery and glittery quality because as I layered it before neatening up the edges. I'm actually really pleased with the blending that I did on this one because it really doesn't look precise where the two colours meet.

I have some glittery shadow that doesn't appear too bold so two of the shades made a good top layer. The purple, however, didn't really require any additional effects because it was already shimmery. This was a fun experiment and as I always say when I come to the end of one of thse posts... I hope to be doing more like this.

Well, thanks for reading this one. I hope you've enjoyed this one as it's one of my more creative pieces. I'd love some feedback and possibly a few suggestions for my next few posts. What would you like to see next?

Yet Another Face Mask Review: Can Ooharr Make A Difference?

Hello everyone! I hope you're all having a fantastic weekend, as promised I've found the time to finally post my Ooharr Face Mask review, I've had the images saved on my laptop for weeks now so it's about time! As most of you will know by now, I'm on a constant search for a long-term skin solution so I was super interested in giving these a go.

I was sent three for an unpaid review and I'm fairly happy with the brand image. My first impressions of the product obviously came from the packaging, I quite like the designs as they're bright and the colours contrast well against each other.

The main one I'm going to talk about is Rosie Glow, though, that's mainly because it was the first one I tried out. It's a deep cleansing face mask so it's not exactly particularly sensitive on skin but mine kind of needs a little tough love right now.

It took a while for me to choose the first mask because I wanted to read over the back and attempt to figure out which would be a good starter product. I ended up just choosing Rose Glow for the simple fact that it would sting less than the other deep cleansing mask. Dead Sea masks always tingle a bit so I just picked a more nourishing one.

For the sake of the post, here's a totally attractive and so not cringey face mask selfie. The consistency of the product was thick and almost moussey, it was a clay but at the same time it didn't quite feel like other clay masks that I've used.

There wasn't a specific smell and it wasn't all too unpleasant, it did leave my skin a little pinker where I had blemishes but once my skin was moisturised I really noticed the difference. My skin felt smooth and clean and I liked how it made me look more healthy in a subtle way.

The big question though, the one that we ask of all skin products, will this product make a difference in the long run? Well, do you want the short answer or the long answer? The short answer would be no. The long answer would explain why not, personally I feel as though this product doesn't make a noticeable difference in skin quality it just freshens up skin a bit. I prefer products to astonish me and make me desperate to buy them again but this one sadly doesn't.

I hope this post has interested you, I'd love to know whether or not you've tried the masks yet and what you thought of them if you have. Well, until next time... Ciao!

UPDATE: Sorry About The Blog Negligence

Hey guys, I just want to post a little update and an apology for my lack of posts this month. I've honestly meant to keep up with content but I've had a fairly busy few weeks.

I've been working and hanging out with friends a bit more recently and I've kind of let my blog take the back seat. It's something that I haven't done since I started my blog in 2015 and I'm going to get back on with that as soon as possible. I have lots of ideas and a few posts already planned including a face mask review and a tag but you'll have to bare with me.

I love typing up pieces that have a little twist to them and my favourites are always tags because I get to put out my opinions in a more casual way. Also, it means I get to connect with some of you who perhaps agree or relate with me.

I'm hoping to harass my friend Autumn into posting on here as a guest soon because we had a chat on her pre-birthday celebration. She's been doing pretty great on her NCTJ course at the moment so her content can only be awesome.

Speaking of Autumn's pre-birthday celebration, we went to see Deadpool in the cinema's. My brother had seen it the week before so he'd been quoting it quite a bit and I hadn't even noticed. It's very much his humour but I did enjoy it so well done to Marvel once again. Captain America: Civil War is the next one to get excited about.

The next tiny bit of information for you guys, relevant because I will be blogging about it, is that I'm going to see Russell Howard's Stand Up Central one night and the to The Vamps concert the next night.

I've never seen a comedy show live before and Russell Howard is one of my favourites so I should be able to tell you guys quite a bit about my first experience with that sort of thing. Poor Leanne will have to put up with me giggling like a four year old. As for The Vamps concert, I'll give it my regular attention for that sort of thing because I just love blogging about music and concerts.

We've also just booked GOLD VIP tickets for next year's Walker Stalker Con, I was very jealous of Leanne when she went to the first one so we made sure we booked the tickets in advance this time around.

I'll have to outdo the nails I did for her this year, if you haven't already seen them you can check them out here. I guess we'll have to go a little darker next year and perhaps I'll get better at the actual art part of the designs. I have a full year until then though so there's a good chance that I will be. We're super organised, we have the hotel booked a year in advance which is good for me!

Well, I guess that's all for now. Like I said, I'm sorry about being such an inconsistent blogger but I'm currently working on that. Thanks for reading this post, there should be a new one up tomorrow!

Trying Out The Breville Blend Active + Recipe

Blend Active Review
Hello everyone! So as a lot of you guys know, I've been quite into healthy smoothies recently. One issue I tend to have with making the, however, it the mess I make as I pour the liquid into a bottle, jar or glass. The Breville Blend Active eliminates that issue so when it was recommended to me on Amazon I just couldn't help myself.

This isn't a paid advertisement, this is a product that I purchased because I wanted to try it out and I figured I'd share my opinion with you guys. I was torn between this one and the Nutribullet but since this was an impulse buy I didn't do too much research. It's working out well so far, I've used it twice, though, I struggled the first time as I used too much frozen fruit and it turned into a frozen mush at the blade,

The machine itself is super easy to use, just fill up one of the bottles with your chosen ingredients, screw on the cap with the blade in, lock into the main machine and press the blend button. No mess and no fuss, just switch the lid from the bladed one to the regular one and there you go, you can enjoy your delicious smoothie.

So yeah, I did make a bit of mess whilst chopping and pouring but that comes with my general clumsiness and it couldn't at all be helped. It was considerably tidier though and I can imagine that more organised people really won't have that issue.

I hope you've enjoyed this post, if you're interested in products you shouldn't follow my example and impulse buy. Check out the reviews and take a look at all of the options, I can try to stop you lot from making the same daft mistakes as me. Luckily I actually like this product so it wasn't a loss this time.

I quite enjoy putting together recipes and trying out different combinations of ingredients, I've tried all sorts of wacky mixes. Just incase you were wondering, the smoothie featured in the image included:
  • Milk
  • Frozen raspberries (a handfull!)
  • 2 bananas
  • Almonds
  • Honey
Thanks for reading, I apologise if I've rambled on a bit. I'm hoping to get quite a few posts up this week but I can't guarantee the timing. Until next time, bye!
